Police in the tech capital, Bangalore, may have been successful in getting the bars and eateries shut before mid-night, but the restriction has paved way for raves, a common occurrence in the outskirts of Bangalore and Pune.
On Sunday, one such rave party was busted by Kannada activists, in the outskirts of Bangalore. Later with the intervention of police 35 partygoers were arrested, including a few foreigners, lost in the ecstasy of puffing the magic dragon.
A police official claimed to have seizeda huge quantity of weed, cocaine and other illegal materials from the spot. The arrested have been sent for medical examination, and anyone found guilty of consuming drugs will be charged, reported Deccan Herald.
The craze for rave parties and use of drugs is catching up fast in India. Almost every week, rave parties in different parts of the country, mostly outskirts of Pune and Bangalore are organized. And recent arrests reveal that, raves are popular among techies too. X
