BT shows revenue, profit boost - Rake's Progress

The company formerly known as British Telecom released its fourth quarter results with a slight revenue increase of two per cent year on year, and a gross profit up three percent.

BT turned in revenues of £5,422 million, and a gross profit of £714 million.

The financial year showed that BT revenues amounted to £20,704,000 and gross profit for the year of £2,506,000 - compared to the previous year the gross profit is flat.

The firm said that up until the 31st of March this year BT owned 12.7 million broadband end users, with its retail share of this market being 35%. Sir Michael Rake, the new chairman of BT said that in the financial year 2008-2009, he expected the firm to deliber continued growth in revenues. X
