Intracity helicopter shuttle for Bangalore

Chopper plan to lure Bangalore IT companies

The shifting of the HAL airport in Bangalore to Devanahalli may lead to a rise in the number of people opting for private jets and helicopters. And now, Deccan aviation plans to lure IT companies in Bangalore to use its helicopter services.

With the shift to the new airport, frequent fliers frequently find themselves travelling for two to three hours before they even get to check-in from most of the important business parks in India's Silicon Valley. But those techies, who consider time as money, can reach the new airport in just 10 minutes in a chopper.

The shuttle service will be available at the helipads located in UB City, Palace Grounds and Electronic City. The plan has generated considerable interest from the IT giants. Kingfisher Airlines is also planning a shuttle service to the airport.

However, the helicopter service will help only a small number of people such as the top executives of IT giants. Others will have to wait for the arrival of the new six-lane highway or a rail link. X
