CBS buy Cnet for $1.8 billion

Major network CBS bought Cnet - sometimes known as news.com, for $1.8 billion today.

The deal is expected to close in Q3. CBS reckoned the acquisition will propel it into one of the US's top web sites. It will have 54 million unique users a month and a world page view ranking of 200 million. X
