Nanobooks, Classmates branded under same name

Different strokes for different folks

By Mike Magee @ Thursday, May 08, 2008 6:39 AM

A Brazilian system integrator is selling Classmates and Nanobooks branded under the same name.

Positivo Informatica is one of the biggest Brazilian SIs, and the netbooks will be for sale to one and all. They come as the Kid's version, the Mobo Kids which uses the Intel Classmate PC 1.5 and one for grownups called the Positivo Mobo, using a Via Nanobook reference design.

Perhaps Via is cuddling up to Intel just like it's in bed with Nvidia? Unlikely, we'd have thought. The units, as well as having the same branding, have the same price too - Brazilian R$999 or in Euro money 386. There's more about this stuff here. X
