| | Mobile phones preferred to wallets - Chinese best connected, apparently By Nick Farrell @ Wednesday, May 14, 2008 8:19 AM
Section - Telecoms/Mobile | | | | A third of workers would rather have their mobile phone with them than their wallet.
According to a new survey, if a worker was forced to leave the house with only one object they would take their mobile over their wallet, keys, laptop or MP3 player. The survey was conducted by market research firm IDC and sponsored by Nortel. It found that 38% of the 2,367 people polled chose their mobile phones over their wallets or house keys.
The survey was supposed to find out how many people in the world considered themselves 'hyperconnected.' This is someone who uses more than seven devices for work and personal access, in addition to at least nine applications like instant messaging, text messaging or web conferencing.
Apparently, the answer was 16%, and growing.
If you live in China you are more likely to be hyperconnected. Canada and the United Arab Emirates had the fewest. X | |
