| | If you are an adult and play the online kids game Animal Crossing expect to have your door broken down as US coppers search your house for kiddie porn.
Andy Anderson, Mid-Missouri Internet Crimes Task Force holds the view that there is no reason why an adult would play Animal Crossing unless they were a paedophile trying to groom child victims.
Anderson says adults playing Animal Crossing and similar games are likely doing it for the wrong reasons.
According to Games Politics there are loads of adults who play the game which first appeared on the Gamecube, who are not paedophiles. They might be a bit spooked that they are automatically considered villains by the coppers.
The comments were first reported by KMIZ whose top hack Curtis Varns admitted that Detective Anderson’s comments did take the story down an unintended path.
He said he allowed the story to run to let viewers know children had been contacted inappropriately through the game but not to slag off any particular game.
Varns said when he looked at the story again much of the original intent had been lost because of the copper's comments. X
