Airtel’s virtual calling card enters Canada

Reaching out to international boundaries

Bharti Airtel, yesterday launched its virtual calling card services in Canada, offering a tariff of Rs 2.80 per minute call to India, it already has similar services in US, UK and Singapore. Using the service, the subscribers can also call other countries, as per the list available on Airtel CallHome website, said Bharti Airtel Head of International Calling Cards Arun Bharadwaj. With this new offering the company is at large targeting NRIs and student population of 1.5million staying in Canada.

As of now the estimated outgoing traffic to India from Canada is around 180 million minutes per month of which 60 million minutes is through calling cards. Going by the current scenario, Airtel’s home call service in Canada is intended to increase company’s share of virtual calling in Canada by becoming the preferred choice for the Indian community living there.

Bharti also offers various value added services, including two touch speed dial and renewal facility online.  X
