AMD readies its Intel, Nvidia killer

Intel Developer Forum August 2008 Fusion will spread confusion

By Mike Magee @ Thursday, August 21, 2008 8:33 AM

Word is from several people we talked in the know here at the Intel Developer Forum that AMD-ATI is almost ready to go-go with its combined graphics-CPU stuff known as Fusion.

Word is that Shanghai is looking very good too. Word is that Nehalem has a way to go before it's going to be quite good enough to cut the ice.

And word is that DEC mentality now rules at Advanced Micro Devices, and the cookie cutters are out for anyone who doesn't get the message.

None of these messages came from Advanced Micro Devices which neither seems to want to chat me up any more, and also doesn't seem to organize the same spoilers for IDF it used to be famous for.

Will Intel buy Nvidia? It is not beyond the bounds of possibility, possibly because AMD is ready to foray forth again in its new DEC mask. X
