AMD sells digital TV business to Broadcom

Broadcom bought AMD's digital TV business for $192.8 million.

Dirk Meyer, IntelThe 500 plus employees who work for AMD will be offered jobs at Broadcom, if they choose to accept them and to be accepted.

AMD CEO Dirk Meyer said the move was part of the firm's strategy to get leaner and more focused. The deal, which is subject to approval by the authorities, is expected to be completed in December of this year. Meyer said he is determined to make AMD profitable. X
