AMD share price drops to 52 week low

Wall Street exec leaves

By Examiner Staff @ Tuesday, July 22, 2008 5:12 PM

Chip firm AMD's share price hit $4.32 today, a 52 week low, but climbed back to $4.36 during the day.

At the same time, Collaborative Software hired away Richard Reichgut. He was a senior financial services industry manager and developer relations exec at AMD. There he was in charge of AMD's software and microprocessors relating to the financial industry.

Earlier this week, the new AMD CEO, Dirk Meyer, said that the firm was going to concentrate on volume PCs and servers into the commercial sector. It was large corporations who helped give AMD a big step up after it launched its Opteron server chip.

Intel's share price stands at $22.04 at press time, slightly down on the day. X
