Another cheap car for India

$2,500 price tag, but you might want to save up for some extras

Another Indian car giant is following in the footsteps of Ratan Tata’s-Nano. Bajaj Auto's $2,500 car, code named ULC, will also be sold through dealers like the Nano.

The motivation is not just restricted to making an economical car, it’s also about strategic marketing. The basic range for ULC may start at just $2,500 and is bound to lure the customers with its rock-bottom price, but they should be ready to spend more than the enticing price tag - you need to pay for every feature or accessory that normally every car has.

Bajaj Auto has collaborated with Nissan and Renault on the ULC. The car is planned to go on sale in 2011 and will be made at an all new plant, to be constructed in Chakan (Maharashtra). X
