Apple's much-hyped new data synching service fell over just hours before the next-generation Iphone hit the shops. The $99-per-year Mobileme service was supposed to let people view, update and sync e-mails, calendar appointments and contacts across Iphones, Macs and Windows PCs. The service is a key part of the new 3G Iphone strategy and it was important that it worked properly.
