ATI's RV770 is 256 bits wide

Rumour Royale They like their weird codenames that lot

By C Shanti @ Monday, May 12, 2008 1:02 PM

We learn from a crow that sat down near to us that AMD-ATI has a cunning wheeze up its sleeve. It will introduce the RV770 with 256 bits, a number that is auspicious for ATI, cawed the crow.

Now the codename for this product, quoth Mr Crow, is Makedon. Surely that is after the infamous Terry Makedon of ATI, who has to get down with the crowds of fanbois and give it all its worth.

No date for said ATI graphics board HD 4800 yet, squawked Mr Crow, but as sure as eggs is eggs, this one is a goer. Then he flew off. X
