BangaloreIT.in, as it was known, has declared its motive to operate as more of a business to business affair.

After the annual mega IT event in Bangalore, it is now renamed BangaloreIT.biz. N R Narayana Murthy, chairman, Infosys, being present at the event demanded the government to put up a single clearing agency for companies planning to set up shops within the state, writes Debopriya Nandy.

At this the Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, said that the matter will be looked into, adding that, even the government is interested with the growth of IT industries in the state. Not only this, but also for the first time, a conference is to be held to discuss IT's role in the nation's security and sports, by the event. The event is now to be held in its original location, that is, Palace Grounds, unlike the previous two editions.

Another similar event to held from November 6-8, this year is to consist of participation of the Indian Semiconductor Association (ISA), and the Manufacturers Association of Information Technology (MAIT), along with workshops, roundtables, a CEO conclave and golf tournament.

The US, Japan, Mexico, Germany, Australia, Chile and Singapore are the countries whose participation is so far confirmed. X
