Bharti Airtel strengthens operations in Gujarat

New call centre opens up

Bharti Airtel along with its partner Mphasis, has announced the opening of its new call centre in Gujarat at Vadodara. The new call centre located at Spencer Mall, Genda Circle will be an extension of the call centre in Ahmedabad, which will aim at delivering enhanced service experience to a population of more than one million customers in Central Gujarat. It will be equipped with 400 seats, with the capacity to grow to 800 seats and have 2500 people by the next 12 months. The agents have been trained in linguistic, soft skills and call handling techniques.

Milind Godbole, CDO of Mphasis BPO said, ‘The opening of our Vadodara centre, is in keeping with our strategy to grow beyond the metro cities and tap local talent here. Initially we will leverage this center to service the rapidly developing Indian market, providing services to domestic clients.’ It is expected to strengthen the operations in Gujarat, while simultaneously seeking improvement by adopting  successful practices followed in Ahmedabad center.

Sharlin Thayil, COO of Bharti Airtel, Gujarat Circle said, ‘The new Mphasis centre at Vadodara will take care of the rapidly growing customer base for Airtel in Gujarat. The staff has been well trained on the various Airtel processes with the expertise of Mphasis so that they deliver a standard, consistent and delightful call centre for our customers.’ X
