Bharti Telemedia, a part of Bharti Airtel has finally launched its DTH( Direct to home) services. The company entered the space with a test-launch.

Bharti has installed 80-100 set top boxes( basic hardware required to access DTH service) of its DTH services to few selected homes in Gurgaon. The nationwide commercial launch will be sometime in August to September, reported the Business Standard.

To market its entry in a market, where Dish TV and Tata Sky are already operating, Bharti is likely to lower the entry-level subscription fee, against Rs.2,490 and Rs. 2,674 of Dish TV and Tata respectively. With Anil Ambani- owned ADAG BIGTV, also launching its DTH service in months, the competition among DTH providers is likely to bring down the subscription fee to a more affordable level. X
