Bill Gates has come out with aggressive plans to revolutionize the hospitality sector in India. The former Microsoft boss has displayed his entrepreneurial attitude with the monopoly of Windows that made it a household name around the world.
Last Friday, he spent his last day at office and the entire world expected him to play the role of Philanthropist after his retirement. But the Microsoft magnate has some different plans for himself. Gates bought majority stakes in a Canadian hotel chain, Four Seasons in 2006 for $3.7 billion. Saudi prince Alwaheed bin Talal is a co-owner of the chain.
Four seasons has 74 hotels worldwide and is also has a presence in India with only one hotel in Mumbai. The CEO and Chairman of Four Seasons, Isadore Sharp said he is optimistic about the Indian market.
It has to be Bangalore when Bill Gates is involved. After all, Bangalore is the India’s Silicon Valley and four acres of land had been acquired in south Bangalore. Goldman Sachs is the major financer of the project.
When contacted, the Four Seasons public relations said in the hotel’s expansion plans in India, six locations in major cities in India have been identified. Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Kerala and Goa are among the other cities that have been identified.
No doubt the hotels will come with either 95 or 98 windows and have a beautiful vista. X |
