Delhi-based Bird Group has initiated a new travel planning software, Bird Res-SBT, which the company claims will help business houses reduce travel costs.

To launch the travel software in India, Bird tied up with travel technology provider Amadeus's for its e-Travel Management software, which works out a travel plan for the employee and keeps the organisation informed.

Indian corporate companies spend $6 billion yearly on travel. Ankur Bhatia, Bird Group executive director, said, "Our software for planning travels for business houses has come at a time when corporate travel managers are facing tremendous pressure to reduce travel cost and move towards video conferencing. Our software would plan out and provide the best deal for the traveller." Bhatia added.

The cost of the software varies according to the annual budget of the companies, starting at  $10,225 (Rs 500,000) for companies spending less than $204,914 (Rs 10million).The cost for each transaction is just Rs 30.

The company has received over 30 enquiries from industrial and corporate houses so far, and has signed up ABB , British Petroleum and Spicejet.
