IBM is selling software to put its Cognos business intelligence software onto BlackBerry mobile devices.

Blackberry maker Research in Motion wants businesses to create software so that users will use the device for more than just e-mail, messaging, calendar and phone services.

According to Reuters, the Cognos package will cost $300 and will allows customers to view real-time analytics on the state of their business on their BlackBerrys.

IBM has also released software that will help BlackBerry users to find each other and talk to colleagues with expertise in specific business areas. An additional package will allow users to get personalised content from corporate websites.

IBM bought Canada's Cognos in January for about $4.9 billion. There is more information here. X
