Breaking the bank - Prison Break fan pays a high price

A fan of the television series Prison Break has racked up an amazing £31,000 bill by downloading the programme on his mobile phone while on holiday abroad.

On holiday in Portugal, Iayn Dobson, an IT contractor from the UK, used his phone as a modem to catch up with the latest epsode. He told Mobile Entertainment: 'I knew I used a lot of data while abroad, but not to the tune of £31,000. The figures didn't make sense.' He said he expected the bill to be more like £150.

Yes Telecom has agreed to cut the bill to £229 - and has advised customers to check the small print in their contracts, especially when travelling abroad. X
