California-based Broadcaster has acquired Eyecandy, a Delaware corporation whose primary operations are centered in Shanghai, China.

Eyecandy Media provides cellphone applications to China Mobile and is expected to offer additional content such as games to future 3G cell phone subscribers. The company also specialises in video search, broadcasting and VOD programs.

"We believe there will be great synergy when we utilise Broadcaster's technology and content aggregation and casual game development expertise for mobile devices in China," said Eyecandy CEO, Chen Wei Shi.

Martin Wade, CEO of Broadcaster, concurred. "We look forward to assisting Eyecandy with its development of technology and content solutions for the mobile device market in China."

Broadcaster recently launched a comprehensive Internet entertainment network which grants users access to on-demand entertainment, including movies, music, sports, games and viral videos. The service features a content manager, entertainment meta search, mobile transfer capabilities and social networking tools.
