Cable company Charter Communications has warned its customers that it will track every website they visit.

The company, which is the fourth largest in the US, said it will sell the data to an outfit called NebuAd which will target which advertising based on the data you see. Charter is testing the system over the next month and will then decide whether or not to roll it out to its nearly three million Internet subscribers.

Charter claims that is all good news for the customer which will now get advertising more tailored for their needs. In fact it seems that NebuAd is shelling out 'several dollars per subscriber per month' for the data.

According to Alleyinsider, punters do have the option of opting out if they don't like it. X
