Canon India has announced the pre-Diwali launch of 85 new digital imaging solutions.
Products include digital and video cameras, copiers and software applications, as well as cable ID and card printers.
Alok Bharadwaj, senior VP of Canon India, explained that the launch was the "biggest of its kind that [the country] has ever witnessed". According to Bharadwaj, Canon was hoping to significantly increase its market share across multiple product categories.
"The year 2009 will also see us focusing significantly on tier II and III cities, thereby reinforcing Canon's leadership in these markets," added Bharadwaj.
Kensaku Konishi, CEO of Canon India, noted that his company had recently expanded its operational scope and infrastructure.
"We have created world class showrooms and have nearly doubled our sales staff from 400 to 730 people. Hence one of our foremost focuses in 2009 will be to leverage on this investment and enhance productivity and effectiveness of our people," said Konishi.
Future efforts will concentrate on the development of digital on-demand printing, winning additional government contracts and successfully executing city-specific marketing.
"Analysing the Indian market, Canon India has made a business decision to make a concerted effort to reach out to regional markets this year," noted Bharadwaj. X |
