Cisco man murdered in Detroit

Facebook entry last thing he did

By Dave Murray @ Thursday, August 28, 2008 12:27 PM

A Cisco executive was shot dead during a business trip to Detroit.

Police said that the last thing anyone heard from Ben Goldman was when he updated his Facebook page that night,.  He wrote that he was having a great time in downtown Detroit.

The 42-year-old Los Gatos family man, who was one of Cisco's rising stars, was found in dead in a vacant lot after apparently spending time at the Penthouse Club. It took them a few days to identify him. He had no wallet. no Cisco ID badge, nothing to connect him to Silicon Valley.

He joined Cisco 16 years ago and he had risen to lead Cisco's marketing for larger corporate customers and leading a marketing team selling to health care, retail, financial and manufacturing customers.

Goldman was also famous in Cisco culture for roller blading in the Pentagon when he did some consulting work for them. X
