Cisco tweet puts bloke in firing line

Online Darwinism

By Nick Farrell in Rome @ Tuesday, March 24, 2009 6:56 AM

Speaking your mind on the online social networking site might just cause you to lose that lucrative job offer that you had been expecting.

According to BHC3   a bloke who tweets under the name “theconnor” wrote a piece saying: 'Cisco just offered me a job! Now I have to weigh the utility of a fatty paycheck against the daily commute to San Jose and hating the work.”

Unfortunately Tim Levad, a 'channel partner advocate' for Cisco Alert, spotted the post and asked: 'Who is the hiring manager. I’m sure they would love to know that you will hate the work. We here at Cisco are versed in the web.'

No one has found out if theconnor's job offer has been binned yet and the bloke has set his Twitter account to private and deleted all information from a home page.

Now, dubbed 'Cisco Fatty' his details have been worked out and someone has posted it all on a site called www.CiscoFatty.com, a web site erected to commemorate this cautionary tale.

It is proving that Twitter is fast becoming an arena for online Darwinism where some people are doomed to be jobless for evermore. X
