Court tells Ambani brothers to listen to mother

Send them to bed without their dinner

The Bombay high court has suggested the fueding Ambani brothers take their mother’s guidance regarding an agreement for supply of natural gas from the Krishna Godavari basin, reports the Times of India.

The advice followed Anil Ambani's counsel Mukul Rohtagi’s statement that Anil was open to discussions with Mukesh. He added that Anil was willing to sit alone with Mukesh at a time and place of his choice.

While suggesting that the brothers take their mother’s guidance, Justice J N Patel said that both parties should settle their problems as it was no longer a family feud. Natural gas being a national asset, the matter was of national importance and should be resolved in the public interest.

The company court had earlier directed the brothers to come to an amicable agreement for the supply of gas. This was challenged at the high court by Mukesh Ambani-owned Reliance India Ltd (RIL). At this juncture, Anil filed a cross-appeal for a negotiation. X
