Daily Candy bought by Comcast

A tad expensive

By Copper Harding @ Tuesday, August 05, 2008 9:10 AM

Daily Candy is a site and electronic newsletter service designed to help you consume more.

Sorry, we mean 'to help you find the right places to eat and the coolest things to buy in your town'.

Location-specific and definitely focused on the female user, Daily Candy was just purchased by Comcast for a cool $125 million, much higher than the rumored price of $75 million.

Daily Candy seems to be a soundbite sized piece of localized information with some pretty “cute” graphics that are its main redeeming value. However, as Comcast seems to have trouble with providing the bandwith service offered to its customers, these soundbite sized bits of information sent out to the 2.5 million Daily Candy subscribers seem to be an efficient way of reducing bandwith.

Less information, less data. X
