David Atherton accused of attempted rape

David Atherton has landed in the slammer after a 49 year old woman alleged he locked her up in his mansion and assaulted her, reports English newspaper The Telegraph. He was also charged with owning Class A drugs, false imprisonment and making death threats. The 50  year old appeared in front of court on Tuesday and has been kept in custody..

Atherton launched tech dealership dabs.com back in 1999, which was the online format of his mail order business Dabs Direct.  He used to be a tax inspector and stacked shelves at supermarkets. He built Dabs Direct and Dabs.com from scratch, raking in an annual revenue of £200 million pounds. He sold his operations for 30 million pounds to BT two years ago. X
