Dell is aiming to attract style-seeking customers with its newly launched, colourful Studio Line notebooks.
This mid-level notebook is set between the company's low-end Inspiron and high-end XPS. The two new models come in 15-inch and 17-inch versions, equipped with built-in webcams and optional LED displays, offering greater quality graphics than standard LCD screens. It also gives the option of built-in broadband connection from Verizon, Wireless and Sprint.
Senior vice president of Dell’s consumer product group, Alex Gruzen, said the new Studio products represented attractive, feature-packed mobile digital lifestyle products. In May, Dell informed that high sales of notebooks had also led to an increase in quarterly earnings and revenues.
The Studio notebook is available in seven colours; plum purple, tangerine orange, flamingo pink, midnight blue, ruby red, spring green and jet black. Customers can also modify the display’s back with graphite grey.
The starting price for the 15-inch model is $799, with the 17-inch version at $999. They are powered by Intel Core 2 Duo processors and come with Windows Vista. They include up to 320GB hard drives, with the choice of a Blu-ray or DVD disk drive. There is also an optional, faster 802.11n version. X
