Dilithium Networks has announced the availability of live video and Video On Demand (VOD) for the Iphone.

The Dilithium Content Adaptor (DCA) will allow Internet providers to offer live or on demand video content via the standard Iphone Safari browser. In addition, DCA supports codec adaption, pre-recorded clips, as well as a wide variety of video formats. The adaptor is compatible with various networks, including wi-fi, WiMAX, 3G and 3.5G (HSDPA).

It should be noted that NMS Communications, a leading provider of communications platforms, recently licensed a number of Dilithium patents related to Media Oriented Negotiation Acceleration (MONA).

According to Dilithium CTO Dr. Marwan Jabri, MONA is the "only standardized technology that achieves video session setup times close to one second, similar to voice calls. This is very important for the customer experience in video calling and video value added services."

Dilithium technology is currently deployed by operators and service providers in over 60 countries, reportedly reaching one billion subscribers. X
