Don't give journalists anything

Off Diary We can't afford the juicy masala

By Subhankar Kundu @ Wednesday, July 23, 2008 9:29 AM

At the launch of the 'Golden Chariot' today we overheard an interesting altercation between two bureaucrats about what should be done for or not done for, the journalists.

A confused conversation between the  two officials caught the IT Examiner’s ears. The heated conversation was over the refreshment arranged for the press and the invitees.

One of these officials came up to the journalists and invited them to join for the snacks arranged for the invitees.

But, the other official was heard refusing to offer snacks to some invitees because of the shortage though most of the journalists by then left the event. He was further heard asking only to offer a glass of juice.

This happened after the Chief Minister departed. It’s definitely an embarrassment for the officials.

Which we're happy to make public now. X
