Drishti-Soft, a provider of contact centre software and communications, has launched FreePBX based Internet protocol-private branch exchange (IP-PBX) for enterprises in the small and medium business segment.

PBX is a business telephone system designed to provide voice over a data network and interoperate with the normal public switched telephone network. IP-PBX offers call management features such as auto attendant, voicemail, email integration, call conferencing, call recording, IVR, call presence and graphical reports. According to the company, the application is built on open source FreePBX, and is easy to install and manage. The IP based solution can scale more than 2000 extension seamlessly and can integrated with third party PBX, speech engines and even applications like CRM.

According to Drishti, the FreePBX platform was developed to enable enterprises to switch from traditional PBX to IP-PBX in an easy and cost effective manner. The application uses Digium cards, Xorcom's USB Channel bank or media-gateways and is based on Asterisk Open source. Businesses can also integrate IP-PBX with any combination of analogue, IP or soft phones. Drishti claims that businesses can avail the full-featured IP-PBX at a nominal installation charge and hardware cost. X
