EDST and Z-Corp to launch 3D printers

From virtual models to hand-held models

EDS Technologies (EDST), product lifecycle management (PLM) and real time visual simulation provider in India and America’s Z-Corp, plan to jointly launch 3-dimentional printing machines, which produce hand held models, reports the Economic Times.

Z-Corp will provide the machines and EDST will supply them to clients in India. EDST will also offer training in use of the technology. According to EDS, the technology would make it possible to analyse a product and also have a firsthand experience before it is manufactured.

The technology develops full-colour physical models based on computer aided design data by using an ink jet print-head, which deposits a liquid binder that solidifies layers of powder. Z-Corp anticipates a strong demand for 3D printing as the number of users of 3D software is increasing. X
