| | A Finnish computer programmer who lost his finger when his motorbike hit a deer has made himself a prosthetic replacement complete with a USB drive attached.
Jerry Jalava was inspired to create his new finger after a doctor, upon hearing that he was a programmer joked that he should make one with a USB attachment. It's easy to see why Finnish comedians dominate the world of comedy.
The 2GB memory stick is accessed by peeling back the 'nail'and stores photos, movies and programs. He can plug his finger permanently into his computer.
Already Jalava feels that he could upgrade his finger to provide him with more space and perhaps some wireless technology. Techies are never satisfied.
Finger V2.00 will ship with a new shell and have removable fingertip and RFID tag, he wrote on his blog, ProtoBlogr.net. The finger post is a big change from what Jalava normally writes, which is mostly about his wrestling with Midgard.
He should consider himself lucky his motorcycling accident didn't result in any rectal damage, otherwise his amusement in having a plug in USB connection might be short-lived. X
