Flash heads to mass market mobiles

Qualcomm deal with Adobe

By Nick Farrell @ Thursday, May 29, 2008 10:55 AM

Flash will soon be seen in mass market mobile phones, following telecommunications company Qualcomm's decision to work with Adobe to merge its Brew mobile platform with the technology.

The Brew Mobile Platform will make it easer for developers to create rich media software and Web content in Adobe Flash.

According to Qualcomm, the new software will merge the strengths of both Brew and Flash. This will mean developers can come up with new platform capabilities with better multimedia and content support, access to device databases and touch-screen user interface development.

Flash designers and developers can use Adobe's existing Flash development tools and just dump them onto the Brew platform. X
