| | A report claimed Georgia was hit by multiple cyberattacks at the same time as Russia launched military action against the country.
The Wall Street Journal said that the suspect behind the attack is a set of cybercrooks dubbed the Russian Business Network, a shadowy organization which may or may not be influenced by the government of Russia.
Denial of Service attacks have hit various Georgian web sites since last Thursday. Yesterday we reported that Poland had offered Georgia hosting facilities to get its message across.
Georgia holds the Russian government responsible for the barrage. A statement said that the cyberwarfare was conducted by Russia, a claim denied by a representative of the country, said the Journal.
But Georgian infrastructure hasn't been affected by the attack, possibly because the country doesn't rely too heavily on the internet to keep its electricity and other functions going.
Unlike a whole load of other Western European countries and the USA. X | |
