Keeping an eye on the portable management of electronic files, Google is coming up with a pizza-sized upgraded hardware box to offer Google-style Web search of office documents to its wide-range of customers comprising of various companies and government organisations.

The latest appliance stores up to 10 million documents in a single box which will enhance the users’ maintenance of their electronic files in a much portable way compared to the previous version of five-box rack, claims the search engine giant.

With better encryption features in the latest version, users will be benefited with the prompt notification in the Google alerts as soon as the new documents get stored on the network. It also comes with a multi - linguistic feature where Google Search Appliances will be manageable in 27 languages, including Czech, Vietnamese, Turkish and Portuguese by the network administrators. Users can access the search results in 40 different languages.

At present, Google has a huge market for its old 12-box appliance. The only concern was the size as it comes at the size of a stand-up refrigerator though the storage capacity is 30 million documents, three times of the pizza-box one. These appliances empower the search services with the Google software as it efficiently find the documents from corporate storages - EMC Corp's Documentum, IBM's FileNet, Open Text's LiveLink and Microsoft Corp's SharePoint.

On the financial front, the company declined to reveal any details. The main source of revenue comes from generating advertisements. X
