Hewlett Packard and Cyberstar have joined forces to promote HP's Procurve network unit in India.
The two companies showed off Procurve products in a number of Indian cities, including Delhi, Pune, and Chennai.
"This road show addressed two important aspects one being value proposition to channel partners and two is by giving unique offers," Rajnikanth, an HP sales manager, told EFY Times. "Also, through this alliance we would not only address emerging markets but also provide deeper penetration in major cities," he added.
Raj Rathi of Cyberstar Infocom expressed similiar sentiments and explained that the product tour had made a positive impression with multiple channel partners.
As IT Examiner previously reported, HP has successfully consolidated its lead in several key hardware sectors, including the blade server market, with a 54.7 per cent market share and quarterly factory revenues growth of 55.5 per cent. HP has also bolstered its Procurve network unit in an effort to compete with Cisco.
In addition, HP's network hardware revenue has increased by 40 per cent over the last two quarters, securing the company's number two market position. HP now accounts for seven per cent market share by revenue, compared with Cisco's 77 per cent. Procurve, which currently generates approximately $1 billion in annual sales, is considered HP's second most profitable business. X
