India makes bid for infrastructure outsourcing

From BPO hub to IMS hub

By Jayant Mishra in Mumbai @ Friday, May 23, 2008 7:25 AM

India is making a bid to capture the lion's share of infrastructure management services, worth a cool $70 billion.

Zinnov, a leading management consultancy, released a study on IMS and concluded it 's the next big thing in IT outsourcing.

The market today is highly competitive and it’s changing rapidly every day, new technology is emerging every day. At the same time dealing with demands to cut cost and produce bottom line savings is very essential. Most IT managers and directors feel that they cannot meet all their service needs internally.

The current IMS spend is expected to be 12% to 20% of the total IT budget. India - known for its quality service - might have an upper hand in claiming most of the IMS contracts, Zinnov thinks. X
