Indian Railways outsources helpline

Dial 139 for Indian Railways

Indian Railways has outsourced its telehelpline, “139” to Bharat BPO. It was launched in July 2007 and has already earned more than Rs1 crore ($234,641), reported the Financial Express.

The call centre receives nearly 500,000 calls daily from all over the country regarding train schedules, arrival and departure timings of trains, PNR and reservation status, fare enquiry, Tatkal reservations, concessions, ticket cancellation and refund.
