The National Organisation for Software and Technology Professionals (NOSTOPS) has launched a website indiaverified.com that will serve as an online databank of live ‘verified and screened’ knowledge workers. Employers can use this service to query and authenticate prospective employees.
NOSTOPS has partnered with First Advantage, a background verification company, for this venture. Rajiv Dabhadkar, Founder of NOSTOPS and the CEO of NOSTOPS.org, said that every industry has a small lot of “not so right” people and that the recruiting industry was no exception. He added that NOSTOPS hoped to make a difference with its new venture.
The recent “India fraud survey report - 2008” by KPMG highlights the alarming rise in fake records by employees. The Indian software industry is flooded with fake CVs and the leading software companies have begun taking strict measures to curb the problem. NOSTOPS stated that the new venture would help implement a structured hiring practice, beginning with the candidate.
Dabhadkar said that the existing gap between demands of multiple skills from the employer and the skills acquired in educational institutions has resulted in document abuse. This has also affected the outward migration of Indian knowledge capital as well.
NOSTOP plans to work as a channel between the employers, the staffing agencies and the employees, both in India as well as overseas to curb this problem. X
