Infosys BPO broadens its services

New business model delivers rewards

By Subhankar Kundu @ Tuesday, May 13, 2008 8:28 AM

A year ago, Infosys restructured using the non-linear model which had become common among IT and BPO companies. The move has helped the company secure a number of pilot projects, says Infosys. Infosys BPO recorded a net profit of $35 million for FY08 and more than 80% of the revenue is generated from the non-voice processes. The non-linear model is largely non-voice segment-oriented, but it also has the flexibility to align with voice services too.

According to Infosys vice-president and head of strategic platforms, A Radhakrishnan, the non-linear model has resulted in getting several pilot projects. The key focus is now on the new transaction-based pricing where a customer is charged only if the transaction takes place, Radhakrishnan added.

The company now intends to broaden its focus beyond HR and procurement and is looking forward to process diversification into other key domains like publishing, BFSI, and retail. X
