| | The health wing of Intel has received clearance from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to try out a home care system it has devised.
Intel Health is run by vice president Louis Burns, and the technology, called Intel Health Guide, is intended to provide medical systems for people suffering chronic diseases at home.
The tech monitors blood pressure, blood sugar levels and other measurements despatched to doctors and hospitals across the Internet. These ideas are not new, HP experimented with a remote blood pressure unit six or seven years ago.
According to the Wall Street Journal, some pilot tests of the devices are completed, others are in progress, and systems will become available in the UK and USA next year. X
