In a seminar held in Bangalore, hosted by ISA (Indian semiconductor association) in conjunction with JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization), Japanese delegates from Fukuoka, invited Indian entrepreneurs to venture in their country.

Addressing the seminar, Keiji Honjo, Disco Corporation said, there is no-doubt that India has done remarkably well in the software business and has very skilled labour. We see a lot of potential in semiconductor manufacturing sector.

The Japanese team comprising Todd Takaki, Managing Director Inoueki,  Keiji Honjo, Disco corporation, Yutaka Akagawa, Executive director, Daiichi institution industry, came to India for investigate the manufacturing sector and understand what else is going in the country apart from software.

An Indian entrepreneur said the only reason India had not progressed at the same pace as Japan in the past 20 years, was because Japanese companies haven't set up camp in India.

The Japanese delegates didn’t comment much on it, and could only say our government is willing to help you with your ideas, saying that the delegates accepted that they have a language problem, and able to communicate with people overseas, only after a glass of wine.

We'll drink to that. X
