Lowe makes India its outsourcing hub

Balances the wheel on it

By Nick Farrell in Rome @ Friday, May 16, 2008 1:05 PM

Advertising agency Lowe Worldwide is upgrading its Indian office to become its hi-tech outsourcing hub for international operations.

Lowe currently outsources digital coding to India while a lot of interface design is outsourced to Sweden from around the world. The idea is to have a network of studios that are linked with online workspaces. The plan means that Lowe can operate on projects 24 hours a day for seven days a week and allocate work to wherever the staff are available worldwide.

Currently, the company is investing huge amounts of cash into providing the IT infrastructure to pull the idea off. The scheme will be up and running by the end of the year and the the network is already working on a number of confidential pilot client initiatives.

Once the hub it established, Lowe will use a file sharing network to send files around the world to where they are needed. X
