Man says work makes him sick

Santa Fe fakery

By Nick Farrell @ Wednesday, May 28, 2008 11:23 AM

A campaign has started in the US to remove WiFi from every public building in the state of New Mexico to prevent people who suffer from what they claim is an allergy to the technology suffering too much.

Arthur Firstenberg claims that he and his associates are allergic to the radio waves. He gets a chest pain the moment he enters a hotspot. He suffers for a couple of days, apparently.

KOB-TV claims that Firstenberg and dozens of 'other electro-sensitive people' are arguing that Santa Fe's proposal to establish WiFi hotspots in public places is breaking the Americans with Disabilities Act which is supposed to stop disabled people suffering.

He has a bit of an uphill battle ahead. The World Health Organisation says electromagnetic fields are not responsible for the 'range of non-specific symptoms' that Firstenberg and his chums suffer from.

Where there have been symptoms, the WHO says people suffered from them even when they were exposed to the rays or not. This suggests that Firstenberg and Co might be suffering from a psychosomatic illness rather than a real one. X
