The Israeli tech rumour mill is abuzz with with news that Microsoft will be announcing its third Israeli acquisition this year within the coming days.
According to both Globes and Haaretz, Microsoft has a Jerusalem based company called Zoomix Data Mastering in its sights, and it is thought that the company is willing to pay between $20-30 million to seal the deal.
Zoomix, a company that develops information management software, has developed a software engine which can purportedly identify whether enterprise data has been saved and stored with mistakes, and can then correct those errors. This means that businesses can prevent the inadvertent storage of bad data using semantic technology which is able to locate the errors in enterprise data and then fix them. Zoomix claims that its system is ten times faster than that of any other company in the field today.
With its 25 employees, Zoomix would join the likes of virtualization outfit Kidaro and business intelligence firm Yadata, which Microsoft snapped up earlier this year for $90 million and $20-30 million respectively.
It would also represent Microsoft’s eighth company acquisition in Israel since establishing itself in the country. The official announcement is expected early next week. X
