Rumours are circulating in the tech industry that Google will release a new Android device which maximises the use of the camera.

Made by T-Mobile, the G2 will debut on 26 January, according to Cell Phone Signal. The G2 will have a five-megapixel autofocus camera, VGA camera for video calls, a full touch screen, and Wifi connectivity.

Other bloggers following up the rumour say that the specs are accurate, but that the release date will actually be in April.

Boy Genius' deep throat in T-Mobile claimed the G2 wouldn't have a physical QWERTY keyboard, but there would still be a trackball at the bottom of the device. The new phone will be sold everywhere and not just limited to T-Mobile, according to Boy Genius

Last week a group of developers released some improvements of the operating system on Cupcake. According to the Android road map, the Cupcake enhancements have started to be merged into the wider, open-source Android project.

These changes include bug fixes to e-mail, conversation-list scrolling, and the alarm clock. New features include the ability to save MMS attachments. X
