Nokia to change its IPL strategy

No market is better than India for IPL

Finnish handset maker Nokia, the lead sponsor for Shah Rukh Khan onwed Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to review IPL's strategy in moving out of India due to general elections in 2009.
Nokia owns 63 per cent of the market share in India. The company wants to revise its advertising plans assuming that a change in IPL venue would affect their television viewership.

Company’s vice-president and marketing head D Shivakumar said that it's too early to predict on how the strategies will change. However, he has confirmed that Nokia will stay with IPL and its partnership with KKR will stay in tact, reports Hindustan Times.

A revise in strategy is surely not in favour of Nokia, considering all its promotional activities that were in pipeline. The company had also sponsored an exclusive five-song music album “Nokia 2 hot 2 cool” and made an album on two of its Xpress music models, 5610 and 5310. X
